Jaipur, September 18, 2025: In an engaging encounter at the SMS Indoor Stadium, Jaipur Pink Panthers registered a 45-41 victory against the Bengal Warriorz on Thursday. Nitin Kumar and Ali Samadi recorded Super 10s for the hosts to help them climb to fourth place on the points table.

Meanwhile, Devank Dalal notched his seventh straight Super 10 alongside Manprit Pardeep, while Ashish Malik also registered a High Five, but that wasn’t enough for the Season 7 champions to get over the line.

Devank secured the first raid of the game, reaching a milestone by becoming the fastest raider to 400 raid points, achieving the feat in just 38 games. Nitin Kumar opened Jaipur Pink Panthers’ account, but it was the Warriorz captain who was on a roll, giving his team a three-point lead in the early exchanges.

However, the hosts responded quickly with Aashish Kumar’s Super Tackle on Devank, followed by a swift raid from Nitin Kumar to level the score at 6-6. A two-point raid from Ali Samadi then helped the Jaipur Pink Panthers open up a four-point lead, ending a high-octane first quarter at 12-8.

The Pink Panthers slowly began to assert their dominance, inflicting an ALL OUT to extend their lead to six points. Nitin Kumar completed his sixth Super 10 of the season, while Aashish Kumar added four tackles in the first half, giving the two-time champions a convincing 24-18 lead at halftime.

With the Warriorz having only one player on the mat to begin the second half, the hosts inflicted another ALL OUT courtesy a tackle from Aryan Kumar, further extending their lead to nine points. Ali Samadi continued to make his presence felt on the offensive end as well, keeping a seven-point lead intact despite Bengal Warriorz finding some momentum.

Manprit Pardeep and Devank momentarily cut the deficit down to six points before a Super Tackle from Nitin Rawal ensured Jaipur Pink Panthers do not get complacent. Ashish Malik contributed in defence for the Warriorz, tackling Nitin Kumar on a Do-Or-Die raid to keep his side within striking distance with under ten minutes to go.

Bengal Warriorz found a glimmer of hope as Devank Dalal completed another Super 10 and Ashish Malik recorded a High Five to inflict an ALL OUT on the Jaipur Pink Panthers, making it a three-point game with under five minutes to play.

With the game on the line, the Iranian duo for Jaipur Pink Panthers shut the door on any possibility of a comeback. First, Reza Mirbagheri tackled Devank, and then Ali Samadi followed it up with a sensational four-point Super Raid, also completing his maiden Super 10 in the process. That in the end proved to be the difference between the two sides in this high-scoring thriller as Jaipur Pink Panthers clinched a 45-41 victory.

Chandigarh [India], July 2: The groundbreaking PAR 3 MASTERS, India’s first-ever Pitch & Putt Golf Tournament Tour, wrapped up the first leg of its India journey with a spectacular finale at the iconic The Chandigarh Golf Club. This innovative format, built around short-game precision and strategy, began its tour in Panchkula and made stops at Oxford Golf Club (Pune), Jammu Tawi Golf Course, and Rambagh Golf Club (Jaipur), before culminating in Chandigarh.

The event marked a milestone in Indian golf, with over 250 golfers teeing off as early as 5:00 AM, undeterred by the hot and sultry weather. Participants included men, women, seniors, juniors, and special invitees—all united by their passion for the game. The unique Par 3 format, which limited players to just three clubs (including a putter), created a fast-paced, thrilling experience akin to the T20 format in cricket.

Club President Mr. Ravibir Singh expressed pride in hosting this tournament, stating, “It is indeed a pleasure for The Chandigarh Golf Club to host such an innovative tournament, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. The response has been overwhelming, and this format truly brings a new dimension to the game. The club proposes hosting this on a more regular basis.”

Club Captain Capt. Mohanbir Singh echoed this sentiment: “This format brought new energy to the club. Our members thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and are already looking forward to future editions.”

Munish Arora, Founder of Can and Able Entertainment and Promoter of Par 3 Masters, added, “This is golf’s T20 moment—fast, exciting, and accessible. We are proud to bring Pitch & Putt officially to India, under the guidance of the global governing body. Chandigarh has set the tone with a successful finale to the first leg, and we’re excited to expand to more cities post-monsoon. Stay tuned for a major announcement soon.”

Despite its celebratory nature, the prize distribution ceremony was held with a subdued tone in light of the nation’s mourning over the tragic recent air crash. Organizers respectfully limited the festivities to a simple presentation of awards to category winners.

M. P. Singh clinched the top spot in the Men’s Category, with Saahir Singh finishing as the runner-up. In the Women’s Category, Roop Aulakh emerged victorious, while Kulwant Kaur took the runner-up position—both delivering impressive performances in this inaugural Pitch & Putt event.

A separate 9-hole Seniors Tournament also took place, where Brig. D. S. Thukral secured the winner’s title and A. K. Batta claimed the runner-up spot.

Adding to the competitive excitement were the ‘Closest to the Pin’ contests, which thrilled spectators and players alike. These were won by Dr. Narinder Arora and the tournament’s youngest participant, Nihaal Cheema, both showcasing exceptional accuracy.

A standout moment of the event came when S. S. Sodhi achieved a hole-in-one on the 9th hole—a rare and celebrated feat that brought a spectacular close to the tournament.

Tournament integrity was overseen by Tavleen Batra, former professional golfer and trainer, who served as the official referee.

The event was organized by Can and Able Entertainment, one of India’s leading sports and entertainment management firms. It was presented by Indian Oil, with Royal Ranthambore as the Celebrations Partner and IGP as the Gifting Partner.

Through the event, Dhoni emphasized the importance of honesty, hard work, and meticulous planning for achieving the best results. He acknowledged that success and failure are part of life, encouraging students to learn from failures and keep moving forward.

Responding to a student’s question on the importance of focusing on the process rather than the outcome, Dhoni advised, "Live in the present and enjoy every moment.
New Delhi [India] : A chilly, misty morning at Panchkula Golf Club set the stage for a groundbreaking moment in Indian golf—the debut of the Pitch and Putt format. With a mission to make golf more accessible and exciting for people across the country, this new format also positions India as a rising star on the global golfing map.

The inaugural Par3 Masters tournament kicked off with an impressive turnout of 178 golfers, including club members and special invitees. Despite the 8-degree chill and the fog lingering over the course, the participants were eager and enthusiastic. The first group of 84 players embraced the challenge of the new format, where each hole was set to Par 3, and players were limited to just three clubs—including a putter.

As the morning progressed, the fog began to lift, and the sun finally broke through, bringing warmth and energy to the course. The entire 18-hole layout had been reimagined to accommodate the Pitch and Putt format, and the response from the golfers was overwhelmingly positive.

Col. Dhillon, the General Manager of Panchkula Golf Club, shared his excitement about the event: “As both a golfer and an administrator, this was a fantastic opportunity. I knew our members would love this new format, and seeing all the spots fill up in under four hours was proof of its appeal. We’re proud to be the first club to bring Pitch and Putt to such a large scale, and it’s thrilling to see it take off so successfully.”

Munish Arora, Founder of Can and Able Entertainment, was also excited about the launch of this fresh approach to the game: “As a golfer for nearly two decades, we’ve organized over 50 golfing events, but we’ve always wanted to push the boundaries. The creation of Par3 – Pitch and Putt is the realization of that vision. We’re eager to take this format to more cities across India in the near future,” he said.

Dilip Jayaram (DJ) and Mahesh Ranka, representing GameChangerZ, emphasized the broader potential of the new format. “Pitch and Putt has a great future in making golf more popular and accessible to a wider audience. It’s a format that can truly grow into a sustainable and beloved sports property,” they noted.

Adding a touch of professionalism to the event, former pro golfer turned trainer, Tavleen Batra, served as the tournament referee, ensuring fair play and a smooth experience for all participants.

The players faced a unique challenge on a course where holes ranged from 55 to 105 yards. With the restriction of only three clubs, including a putter, the Pitch and Putt format tested the golfers’ precision, strategy, and skills to the maximum.

As the day came to a close, a lively prize-giving ceremony celebrated the winners and runners-up in both the Men’s and Women’s categories. Rajat Seth took home the Men’s trophy, with GC Sharma securing the runner-up spot. In the Women’s category, Kamlesh Khanna claimed victory, while Shalini Sheron finished as the runner-up. T.P. Singh was also recognized for winning the Closest to the Pin contest. The evening wrapped up with great entertainment, making it a memorable occasion for all.

The Panchkula Golf Club Par3 Masters is just the beginning of a new chapter in Indian golf. With more tournaments planned across the country, the Pitch and Putt format promises to make golf more exciting, accessible, and popular than ever before.

New Delhi [India] October 11: Young Talent from Palanpur Leads Indian U-23 Football Team at Mini Football World Cup

Palanpur has a new reason to celebrate its local hero, Mahmood Saiyed who has recently taken center stage on an international level. Syed Mahmood the son of Maksud Syed, a computer software entrepreneur in Palanpur, has been appointed as the captain of the Indian U-23 football team for the prestigious Mini Football Under-23 World Cup. The tournament, held in Koitiya, Europe, from October 6 to October 11, has put both Syed Mahmood and Palanpur on the map, as he leads the national team in this global competition.

This achievement marks a significant moment for Syed, his family, and the entire community of Palanpur. His journey to this accomplishment was neither sudden nor easy—it began with his passion for football and cricket during his childhood, nurtured at the Multipurpose Vidyamandir School in Palanpur. There, Syed Mahood dedication to sports was recognized early, and he was encouraged to pursue his dream of playing at a national level.

Now, standing as captain of the Indian team, Syed Mahmood has brought immense pride to his hometown, demonstrating that talent, when coupled with dedication, can break through geographical boundaries. This international achievement showcases not only his individual skill but also the hard work he has put in over the years to achieve success in a highly competitive field.

Syed Mahmood who is also pursuing a degree in software engineering, has had to balance his academic commitments with his passion for football. His story is an inspiring example of how one can excel in multiple domains with persistence, discipline, and time management. He acknowledged his family’s unwavering support, particularly his father’s encouragement, as a major factor in his success.

Syed Mahmood journey has not been a solitary one, as he is also backed by Emechmart, an eCommerce platform under the N & T Engitech Pvt. Ltd. (NNT group of companies). Emechmart, which is known for its comprehensive range of industrial, agricultural, automotive, and building products, has emerged as a trusted name since its inception in 2008. The company, which operates with an ISO and CE certification, recognized the potential in supporting a young, promising talent like Syed Mahmood Their sponsorship has played a critical role in allowing Syed to pursue his international ambitions and participate in the Mini Football World Cup.

In a statement, Syed Mahmood expressed his gratitude for the support he has received:

“I am incredibly grateful to my family, my coaches, and Emechmart for their belief in me. It’s a dream come true to represent India on an international stage. This opportunity wouldn’t have been possible without their encouragement and guidance. I hope to make Palanpur and the entire country proud with our performance in the tournament.”

This sponsorship from Emechmart is a reflection of the company’s broader commitment to uplifting local talent and giving back to the community. As an organization that started its journey in 2009and has rapidly grown in both size and market presence, Emechmart’s evolution from a simple eCommerce player to a leader in the field of industrial supplies is testament to the company’s vision of nurturing potential. Supporting Syed Mahmood is one such example of how Emechmart aims to leave a positive impact beyond its business domain.

As the Indian football team battles it out in Croatia, Syed Mahmood presence as captain is a testament to his grit and hard work. It also signals a bright future for Indian football, where young talent from small towns like Palanpur can rise to global prominence with the right combination of support, skill, and opportunity.

Syed Mahmood story will inspire many, not only in Palanpur but across India, proving that dreams can come true with the right amount of determination, talent, and support. As he takes on the role of captain, all eyes are on him to see how he leads his team in this prestigious tournament. Whatever the outcome, Syed’Mahmood journey is already a victory for himself, his family, and the town of Palanpur, setting a benchmark for future generations to follow.

However, despite her busy schedule, the talented lady takes time out for her passion of playing squash. Recently she also participated in the 80th National Squash Championship in Mumbai. "I didn’t make it through the semifinals, but I lost to somebody who is better; someone who has been playing since her childhood. I have always felt we haven’t ever paid much attention to sports. I feel every company or school should have a compulsory requirement to participate in sports. Because work is not something that will always bring you joy, but mental peace will definitely help you and sports gives you that. Participating in a national championship was a great experience as this was the first time I went for a professional and national tournament. I feel we remain so busy in our lives that we never pay attention to these things. But now that sports has come so much into the limelight in the past 4-5 years and with the Olympics being a big event this year, I don’t think I want to even think twice before participating in such events in future." Nivedita’s father was in the army and since her childhood she was quite keen in sports.

She says, ”I used to play table tennis and badminton as a child. My parents played sports, too. But I started playing squash when I was at Balaji. Ekta (Kapoor) and I used to play squash together at Country Club. But after having my second baby when I joined work, I got a little serious and now I don’t want to miss even a single day." Nivedita shares why she opted for squash and that has a direct link to her father. "I opted for squash because my father played it. He was a Colonel in the army and used to command a regiment. There was a squash court inside our house. Now I regret not having learned it earlier." But how does she manage to get time to practice and play the game? ”It is very tough when you have 16-hour work days. Even on holidays I am working on scripts and readings. But I am someone who is great at multitasking, and I don’t want to leave this sport. I love playing it and am inspired. It is important to make time for these things for yourself. Sports has always been an integral part of my life and I was a sports captain in school . I don’t know why I didn’t pursue it. Now when I see where sports has reached, I definitely regret not taking it up seriously earlier. Squash, believe you me, also helps you throw and let go of your anger and frustration by smashing the ball (smiles)." In the midst of deadlines, creative meetings, travelling and being a mother of two kids Nivedita is devoted to squash and her patience and willpower will only make her a better player.
