IDRC’s 4th Arbitration in India Conclave 2025, Law Min. Meghwal, HMJ Manmohan, Sh. OP Dhankar & Ors

New Delhi [India], November 7: The Indian Dispute Resolution Centre (IDRC), in collaboration with the Bar Council of India’s India International University of Legal Education and Research (IIULER), successfully hosted the “4th Arbitration in India Conclave 2025” at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Supported by CIArb and Vienna International Arbitration Centre, Austria. The Conclave brought together judges, legal luminaries, policymakers, and senior practitioners to deliberate on the theme “Autonomy and Accountability in Arbitration: Institutional Arbitration is the Way Forward.”

Hon’ble Union Minister for Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, delivered the keynote address, outlining the Government’s reform-oriented vision for ADR. Stating that “Arbitration, Mediation, and Conciliation are essential tools for strengthening India’s justice delivery and economic growth.” Citing the Mediation Act, 2023 and the forthcoming amendments to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, he said these initiatives would “make India a preferred seat for both domestic and international arbitration.”

Shri Meghwal remarked that ADR mechanisms reflect India’s cultural and legal heritage, noting that “from Lord Krishna’s mediation in the Mahabharata to today’s institutional mechanisms, India has always valued resolution through dialogue and alternative modes.” He called upon arbitration institutions to ensure accessibility, affordability, and integrity, noting that “judicial intervention should be limited, and efficiency must define India’s dispute resolution landscape.”

Hon’ble Justice Manmohan, Supreme Court, in his valedictory address, called for institutional arbitration to evolve as a transparent and predictable system.
Praising IDRC’s achievements, noting that the Centre had conducted over 3,000 arbitrations in five years and has become a “symbol of India’s commitment to establish an efficient and credible ADR ecosystem.”

Justice Manmohan observed that “Courts must act as facilitators, not barriers, to arbitration. Excessive judicial interference erodes the very purpose of alternative dispute resolution.”
Highlighting the benefits of Institutional Arbitrations over ad hoc proceedings, he went on to suggest that a moratorium should be placed on all ad hoc arbitrations for a certain period so that institutional arbitration can be strengthened. Referring to the Justice BN Shrikrishna Committee Report, he said India should promote arbitration institutions to become a global ADR hub.

He proposed strict timelines for enforcing awards under Sections 34 and 37 of the Arbitration Act to ensure time-bound disposal of arbitration challenges. The Hon’ble Judge also urged the Government to revisit the Finance Ministry’s circular restricting arbitration only to disputes valued less than Rs. 10 Crore, stating that “the Government must remain a part of the arbitration movement, not apart from it.”

Panellists unanimously agreed that institutional arbitration ensures quality, neutrality, and procedural discipline, unlike ad hoc arbitrations that often face delays and cost overruns.

Ms Anuradha Dutt emphasised that “India can only become a true arbitration hub if it combines institutional discipline with a predictable judiciary.”

Mr S.D. Sanjay highlighted that “institutional systems help prevent arbitral fee abuse, avoid delays and promote fairness.”

Ms Shruti Sabharwal noted that “structured oversight, award scrutiny, and ethical accountability make institutional arbitration inherently superior to ad hoc ones”

Mr Ayush Agarwala added that “efficiency, diversity among arbitrators, and digital adoption will determine the future success of arbitration in India.”

Delivering the Welcome Address, Ved Prakash Sharma, Advocate and Co-Chairman, BCI applauded the growing role of arbitration in modern dispute resolution. He highlighted the collaboration between BCI and IDRC, stating that their joint efforts have been “instrumental in promoting awareness, education, and reforms that strengthen India’s arbitration ecosystem.”

Ms Sumedha Sindhu Rathi, Head of Operations and Member Secretary, Advisory Board, IDRC, welcomed the dignitaries and participants, outlining IDRC’s key functions and the benefits of Institutional Arbitration. Abhyutthanam Director Riddhi Chandrawat said that “Khushiyon Ki Gaadi” is being run in various areas of Jaipur city with the aim of taking art and sports to the children of economically weaker sections, along with raising awareness about the Right to Education Act and environmental protection among the general public through street plays. Kota, 19th December 2024 : Award ceremony and Success Power Session of Tallentex, which is one of the biggest talent search examinations of the country organized by Allen Career Institute Private Limited, was held on Sunday. Talented students and their parents from all over the country reached Kota to attend this program held in Samras Auditorium of Allen Samunnat Campus located in Jawahar Nagar.

Toppers from class 5 to 10 were given cash prizes of Rs. 2.50 crores in the program. It emphasized integrating the Gita’s teachings into daily life by promoting adherence to Dharma, following the principles of Bhakti Yoga, and embracing the path of surrender to Lord Krishna as the ultimate means to attain harmony, purpose, and liberation.

The IKSMHA Center, dedicated to leveraging Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) for mental health and self-development, views the Gita as a beacon for cultivating resilience, emotional stability, and ethical leadership. The program began with a soulful recitation of Chapter 15 of the Bhagavad Gita, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through the light of knowledge. IIT Mandi Aims To Strengthen Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Through Its Open House Demonstration

Mandi, India : IIT Mandi, one of the top second-generation IITs, recently hosted its highly anticipated Open House Demonstration, featuring cutting-edge projects developed by second-year B.Tech students as part of the institute's Design Practicum course, on various themes of Health Tech, Future Tech, Sustainability and advanced robotics. The institute supports each group with ₹30,000 to develop their prototypes, fostering innovation and hands-on learning. Through the Open House Demonstration, IIT Mandi aims to nurture entrepreneurial aspirations, awarding the top three projects a development grant of ₹2.5 lakh each through IIT Mandi Catalyst, the institute's flagship incubator. This grant will assist the students in refining their prototypes, exploring commercialization opportunities, and contributing to India's growing startup ecosystem.

Among the 42 innovative prototypes showcased at the Open House Demonstration, several projects stood out for their creativity and potential impact. One of the top three projects, the Flood Monitoring System, a camera based on a full-image system, is designed to provide real-time data and insights on critical factors such as water levels, velocity, and rainfall, offering a promising tool for damage control during floods. Other notable prototypes included Bone Crack Detection Using Microwaves, a safer alternative to X-rays; Solar Panel Cleaning Robots for maintaining optimal solar performance; Climate-Controlled Agriculture with Hydroponic System for sustainable farming; Metal Air Battery, an advanced energy storage solution; and Robots for Railway Track Inspection, aimed at enhancing railway maintenance. These projects reflect IIT Mandi's commitment to fostering innovation and addressing real-world challenges.

Adyal Rural Hospital, Fund – 24 Crores; Centrally located on the Bhandara-Pavani route, the important village with many smaller villages will benefit from this rural hospital so that all primary care and emergency primary needs are met here. The bites of these mosquitoes give people diseases like malaria. Such impure water is called sewage. Sewage is from toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, washing dishes, factories etc. It is generated from the use of water in the place. Sewage needs to be properly disposed of; Failure to do so endangers the health of citizens. This water also adversely affects the environment.

MLA Shri Narendra Bhondekar has foresight brought this project in Bhandara-Pavani Assembly Constituency to dispose of such waste water which is harmful to health, due to such projects, health problems will be reduced to a large extent, diseases caused by mosquitoes will be reduced and a huge fund of 350 crores will be taken from Madara. This work has been promoted by making it available. In the future, due to this project, other districts of Maharashtra will also demand such a project.

Abhishek Chaudhary states that when Mahatma Gandhi first launched the movement for independence, he emphasized that as long as people do not quit drugs, they will not understand their responsibilities towards the country and society. Therefore, the nation first needs freedom from drugs. Through this campaign, Chaudhary aims to spread a creative message against drugs through street plays, torch rallies, and by amplifying the youth’s voice against substance abuse.

Chaudhary has expressed his commitment to visit every district, village, and town to raise awareness against drugs through creative programs targeting children, youth, women, and the elderly. So far, he has conducted several events in the capital Jaipur and the most affected area of Sri Ganganagar.

He further pointed out that while ₹290 crore was allocated for drug awareness, due to the government’s and the system’s irresponsibility, only ₹90 crore has been utilized, and that too for mere token programs. As a result, various forms of drug abuse have spread so extensively that the government alone cannot combat it. Therefore, every individual in society must stand against drugs; only then can the fight against substance abuse be won.

Jaipur, 19 September : The tourism sector currently contributes just 5% to India’s GDP, whereas countries like Thailand and Turkey see contributions of 23% and 11%, respectively. To elevate this to at least 10%—a benchmark for any country in a stable scenario—there is a need for targeted strategies. These include decongesting popular tourist sites, developing new destinations, improving air connectivity to key markets, and making hotels more attractive for both leisure and business travelers. Additionally, states must focus on improving the Ease of Doing Business and creating favorable conditions for investment.

These insights were shared by Dr. Suman Billa, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, during the Inauguration Ceremony of the 11th Annual Convention of the Indian Heritage Hotels Association, being held at Indeco Hotel Swamimalai, Kumbakonam in Thanjavur of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking specifically about heritage, Mr. Billa emphasised that while India boasts world-class heritage sites, the visitor experience at these locations often falls short. To address this, the Archaeological Survey of India and the Ministry of Tourism must collaborate to enhance the overall tourism experience. Storytelling plays a vital role in creating a rich, immersive context for visitors, and the development of interpretation centers, museums, and other facilities can help unlock the full potential of these sites.

Additionally, incorporating fine dining, entertainment, and other amenities can further elevate the experience. Encouraging livelihoods around these monuments is essential, and a robust framework for the adaptive reuse of heritage is crucial. There is also an urgent need to fast-track conservation project proposals and attract more investment to ensure the preservation and growth of these heritage sites.

The Minister for Tourism, Government of Puducherry, Mr. K. Lakshminarayanan, remarked that the theme of this year’s IHHA Convention, ‘Revitalizing Indian Heritage,’ is highly relevant, as IHHA has played a pivotal role in developing world-class destinations across India. He praised IHHA’s commendable efforts in promoting tourism products throughout the country. He highlighted Puducherry as a unique destination that beautifully blends Tamil and European cultures, adding that the government has identified over 100 buildings to be preserved as heritage structures.

He further informed that Puducherry has also been presented with an Award by UNESCO for the cultural heritage conservation project for restoration of a street to Puducherry to its ancient architectural features.

President of Honour, IHHA, Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur said that a key pillar of IHHA’s vision has been Sustainable Preservation. By employing eco-friendly construction methods and restoration techniques, we ensure the longevity of heritage sites while minimizing environmental impact. These efforts focus on protecting natural ecosystems, creating a harmonious balance between tourism growth and conservation. Indeco Swamimalai is a great example of this sustainable preservation and other hotels must learn from their practices, he added.

The General Secretary of Indian Heritage Hotels Association, Gaj Singh Alsisar said that during this IHHA Convention, the primary intention is to communicate the expectations of the Association to the Government and equally understand what the Government expects from stakeholders. He underlined expectations from the Government, such as — Developing a National Heritage Tourism Policy, Re-developing Existing Tourist Centers and Surrounding Areas, Improve Access and Connectivity to Tourist Destinations, Identify more ‘iconic sites’ and Tourist Destinations, Allocate a Corpus Fund to preserve heritage-rich areas across the country, among others.

Earlier in his Welcome Address, IHHA Convener and Vice President, Steve Borgia, emphasized the importance of involving local communities in the management of heritage sites. He highlighted the need for more heritage hotels to adopt this practice, merchandise their products, and contribute back to the local community.

IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Puducherry, Sharath Chauhan; Member-IHHA, Chairman – Neemrana Hotels, Aman Nath and CGH / Vice President, IHHA, Jose Dominic also addressed the gathering on the occasion. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Convention Chairman, Rajendra Singh Pachar.

The campaign #TimeNikaaleinScreenKarein, which has been launched under the programme, gets off the ground in September with a public service message by Ms. Balan. She urges both men and women to take time out and screen for Cancer. The campaign aims to bring an attitudinal and behavioral shift towards early screening by addressing effective partnerships and promoting learning and community engagement.

Cancer is the second most common cause of mortality worldwide, usually being detected much after its first onset. However, testing for cancer well in advance is an efficient method to prevent cancer, early diagnosis, and improved treatment. All India Steel Bottles Association Applauds Government's Initiative on BIS Certification for Stainless Steel Bottles

New Delhi, 30th July 2024 : The All India Steel Bottles Association extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India for the implementation of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) guidelines for stainless steel bottles, effective from June 5, 2024. This important initiative supports the 'Make in India' and 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat' programs, as well as the larger goals of promoting a healthy India ('Swasth Bharat') and protecting the environment. The Quality Control Orders (QCO) for stainless steel vacuum-insulated water bottles and portable stainless steel water bottles represent a major step forward for the industry, predominantly in the MSME sector.

The BIS guidelines mandate that no stainless steel bottles can be imported into India without BIS certification. Additionally, all stainless steel bottles manufactured and sold domestically must carry the BIS certification. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution has clarified that there will be no further extensions for the implementation of these guidelines. Large and medium manufacturers are strictly prohibited from selling non-BIS certified bottles, while small and micro manufacturers have been granted an exemption period of 6 to 9 months, respectively.

The government has highlighted its commitment to supporting and promoting the domestic industry. To facilitate this, BIS is offering faster approvals, licenses, and discounts for manufacturers setting up units within India, differentiating products based on their place of manufacture. Indian-made products are eligible for these benefits, ensuring that domestic manufacturers can quickly adapt to the new standards and maintain their market competitiveness.

Mr. Bharat Agarwal, Director of Crown Craft India and Treasurer of the All India Steel Bottles Association, expressed his gratitude, stating, "We are immensely grateful to the government for implementing the QCO for stainless steel bottles. This move will provide a lifeline to our industry and offer Indian consumers better quality products. As per the recent conference by the Bureau of India Standards on 2nd July during the HGH trade show in Mumbai, the officials mentioned that selling any imported items is now illegal and can lead to confiscation. In preparation to the same, Indian companies already have the installed capacities to replace import volumes immediately, showcasing our dedication to meeting BIS standards."

Jaipur, 10 July: The 10 pillars for sustainable and inclusive development, announced in Rajasthan Budget today, laid the roadmap for Viksit Rajasthan said Ashok Kajaria, Chairman, FICCI Rajasthan State Council & CMD, Kajaria Ceramics Ltd. The new Industrial Policy, Export Promotion Policy, Warehousing & Logistics Policy, MSME Policy and Textile Policy would strengthen the policy framework for accelerated industrial growth and development. Study Uncovers Critical Rural-Urban Disparities in Rajasthan’s Electricity Access and Quality

Jaipur, 10th July 2024 – Rural areas in Rajasthan experience up to 12 hours of electricity cuts on average per day while urban areas in the state witness significantly shorter supply cuts (0 to 6 hours daily). Moreover, close to 60 percent rural population in Rajasthan have to wait for more than 6 hours for electricity restoration post complaints whereas only 13 percent of urban consumers face similar lengthy delays. These findings were released as part of a study titled, “Understanding the Availability and Quality of Electricity Supply”, which was conducted by the Orange Tree Foundation.

Covering 12 locations (6 villages and 6 wards) across Jaipur (North), Banswara (South), and Jodhpur (West), the study was undertaken with an objective of assessing the availability and quality of electricity supply and the impact of unreliable & low-quality electricity on lives, livelihoods, and businesses. Despite achieving 100 percent electrification across the country, the rural areas still struggle to receive reliable and quality supply of electricity; negatively impacting children's education, healthcare facilities, small businesses as well as daily activities.

The report found significant disparity between rural and urban areas with only 3 percent of rural consumers getting their electricity restored within one hour of lodging a complaint, whereas around 51 percent of urban consumers experience swift restoration within one hour of registering a complaint. Additionally, around 25 percent of consumers in Rajasthan reported experiencing voltage fluctuations causing interruptions and equipment failure. Frequent power cuts and voltage fluctuations particularly affected livelihoods particularly in rural areas where access to electricity is crucial for agricultural activities and small-scale businesses.

Ms. Shobhana Tewari, Study Lead & Advisor, Orange Tree Foundation said, “The study highlighted that an overall improvement is seen in the availability and quality of supply of electricity in the last decade. Rural areas in Rajasthan have seen an increase in the supply of electricity since 2015. However, there are still many remote and rural areas where access to electricity still lacks. This divide also impacts the growth trajectory of rural vs urban areas."

Mr. D. D. Agarwal, Director, Samta Power said, “The government has been actively working to enhance the electricity supply and quality in Rajasthan. However, a significant divide exists between urban and rural areas, highlighting the need for substantial improvements in village electrification. In this digital age, where education, healthcare, and numerous other services depend on reliable internet and computer access, a continuous 24x7 electricity supply is crucial.”

Equipment breakdown due to voltage fluctuations was reported by over 60 percent of consumers in Rajasthan, particularly among urban consumers. The study also found that approximately 50 percent of consumers in Rajasthan incurred out-of-pocket expenses of around Rs.1000 to ensure stable electricity supply at their residences.

The findings of the study were released at a roundtable, “People’s View on Quality of Electricity Supply in Rajasthan” which was graced by various industry experts, academicians, and public representatives. This report serves as a vital resource for policymakers, stakeholders, and the community, aiming to bridge inherent gaps and improve the electricity supply landscape in Rajasthan.

Jaipur. For better use of social media in Rajasthan, the schemes of the government are being taken to the people. Be it the Rajasthan government or the CMO’s account on social media platform X, there has been a significant increase in followers here in the last few years. The reality is that Rajasthan is among the top three states on X in the country. If the growth remains the same, then in the coming years Rajasthan can also become the topper in the country in terms of social media.

Followers are increasing rapidly

First of all, let’s talk about CMO Rajasthan. CMO is among the top three in the country on X. On April 1, 2020, the number of followers on X handle was 392 k (thousand). At the same time, this number has increased to 2.5 million year after year. This increase is around 505 percent. If this growth continues year after year, then in the coming few years Rajasthan will get ahead of other states and become number one.

We are ahead of many states

In the last few years, the social media accounts of Rajasthan government have made good progress in terms of followers. Apart from this, CMO Rajasthan is far ahead of the ex-accounts of CMOs of other states. It is ahead of many states like Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi, Kerala, Jharkhand, Bihar, Tamil Nadu.

'Humanity in Action: Mohammed Umar's UH Foundation Paves the Path for Social Good'

The world in which many of us live is no exception to this rule, with a majority of the population driven by personal interests and self-centeredness. Yet, every once in a while, we bear witness to a rare but largely admired example, the person who lives in service of others, an invaluable embodiment of compassion and selflessness ideals. Any social program is made possible by individuals with a strong drive to make a change. Mohammed Umar is such a person. He has been an agent of change since 2016, and his work has not only improved the lives of so many but has also inspired many with hearts full of hope. Through the spirit of being devoted and taking special care, Mohammed is no more a sign of hope, which illustrates to the world that despite all the odds, deeds like these have the power to cast even the darkest areas of the community into light.

Ranging from health education and free checkup camps to donating fundamental assets like books and bags to children who built the initiative in 2016, Mohammed has vividly illustrated his dedication to community improvement and welfare. Besides that, his involvement in the delivery of food packs for orphaned kids and old people manifests even more of his engraved compassion and attachment to the vulnerable.

It has been his family which remains with him through thick and thin and that has been his springboard. His efforts to help as many people as he can extend ever-farther now. On January 2, 2022, he took a firm and definite step forward starting the UH Foundation, an expression of his continued involvement for the benefit of the society.

The Karnataka Tourism Roadshow that was held recently concluded successfully at the Fern Kadamba Hotel and Spa in Goa, eliciting significant interest from travel agents and industry stakeholders in the state's diverse tourism landscape. Jaipur : Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari today met the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations, Dennis Francis at City Palace. On this occasion, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Indian Foreign Service officer, Ruchira Kamboj and United Nations Resident Coordinator, Shombi Sharp were also present.

Diya Kumari said that during the discussion on various international and contemporary issues, the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations praised India's foreign policy under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the G-20 summit chaired by India, India's help to many countries of the world during the Covid-19 epidemic and raising voice against the ongoing wars around the world.

Deputy Chief Minister further said that the entire world is impressed by the efforts being made by the Hon'ble Prime Minister for the overall development of the Global South. Prime Minister also gave the slogan of 'One World, One Family, One Future' in the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' in the G-20 conference and is trying to unite the world through the International Solar Alliance. Diya Kumari also talked about the heritage conservation in detail on this occasion.

PDKF TAKES LEAD IN ORGANISING A MEET OF LIKE-MINDED NGOs

Jaipur : Under the stewardship of the General Secretary of Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF), Princess Gauravi Kumari, an informal round table discussion of social and Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) was convened at the City Palace recently. Princess Gauravi said that the objective was to get to know in what areas were different organisations involved for betterment of women. She emphasised that PDKF would also like to get involved in their respective initiatives from time to time.

The representatives of each of the organisations shared details about their ongoing projects. While outlining their area of work, it was informed that these organisations were involved in women livelihood, health and development, menstrual hygiene, education, even training women drivers, not only for auto rickshaws, but also trucks.

The organisations that attended the meeting included Naya Sawera, We Care, Azad Foundation, Aanchal Child Homes, Saksham, All India Welfare Society, Praveen Lata Sansthan, SK Foundation, Niwala Kamla Bai Charitable Trust, Pink City Rickshaw Company among others. Their representatives agreed to work in collaboration with the PDKF.

On this occasion, she also worshipped the historical sword of the Guru. She said that the story of sacrifice and bravery of Guru Gobind Singh will always inspire us all. On the occasion of Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh, the sword has been displayed at Sarvtobhadra Chowk of City Palace for the visitors, tourists and general public for their 'darshan'.

It is noteworthy that Guru Gobind Singh had spent some time in Nahan (Sirmour district, Himachal Pradesh). While leaving Nahan, he presented his personal sword to the then ruler as a souvenir. Rajmata Padmini Devi, who hails from Nahan, brought the sword to Jaipur a few years ago. Since then, the sword has been enshrined in the palace.

DEPUTY CHIEF MINISTER DIYA KUMARI INSPECTS JHOTWARA FLYOVER

Jaipur : Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari today inspected the ongoing construction of the Jhotwara flyover and gave directions to the officials for the same. During this, concerned officers, officials of the Market Association, shopkeepers and local people were also present. Everyone presented their suggestions and problems before the Deputy Chief Minister. Diya Kumari. She then held discussions with the concerned officials and gave instructions to resolve the problems.

Diya Kumari said that the flyover is being constructed for the general public, hence public opinion and suggestions are very important. Any new construction work should be done with a long-term vision, so that the public can use it without any hassle for the next 25 years. She further said that the Congress Government did not pay any attention to this project and inaugurated it in a hurry. The construction of this flyover was not completed even during the 5 years of the Congress Government. There are still so many flaws left in this project.

Cleanliness campaign from Vidyadhar Nagar assembly constituency

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari today began the three-day cleanliness campaign from Vidyadhar Nagar Assembly under the ‘Sushasan Pakhwada’. This is being held on the birth anniversary of the Former Prime Minister, Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She also paid floral tribute to the founder of Kshatriya Yuvak Sangh, Late Tan Singh at the Sangh Shakti office of Khatipura Mandal.

Later, the Deputy Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Indra Kusth Ashram in Bhawani Niketan and the statue of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at Ambedkar Circle of Murlipura mandal. Along with this, she also participated in the cleanliness campaign program of Vidyadhar Nagar and Nangal Mandal. She also visited the Samadhi site of former Vice President, Late Bhairon Singh Shekhawat at Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium to pay tribute and spread awareness about the cleanliness campaign.

11th Annual Photo Exhibition of Jaipur Photographers Club Concludes

Jaipur : The 11th annual photo exhibition organised by Jaipur Photographers Club successfully concluded with the prize distribution ceremony at the Chaturdik Art Gallery of Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK). The winners of the exhibition were awarded Maya Khubani Memorial Award by Ram Chand Khubani. The first prize was given to Durgesh Nandini Bais (Jaipur) and the second prize was given to Irene Chattopadhyay (Chandan Nagar). Biswarup Saha from Kolkata was awarded the third position, Somnath Mukherjee from Kolkata got the fourth position and Saurabh Dhanorkar from Pune was awarded the fifth position.

The participants were honoured with certificates, JPC Medallion, JPC Look Book and JPC Goodie Bag as prizes. Dr. Samaresh Srivastava, Awadhesh Kumar Pandey, Pavnesh Arora, Shyam Sharma, Pankaj Mandowara, Ravi Kamra, Sher Bahadur Singh, Kamaljeet Yadav and Gaurav Agarwal were present as special guests at the function.

On this occasion, the December Edition of JPC Magazine was also released by the guests. This is the fourth issue of JPC Magazine and its circulation is increasing day by day. During this four-day exhibition, along with the work of all the participants, coffee table books, "Purvottar Ka Safar" by Anil Khubani and “Spitified” by Ajay Nair, Shibu Nair and Pavnesh Arora were highly appreciated. Raunak Khubani was given a special award for being the youngest participant in the exhibition. Two of his photographs were displayed in the exhibition.

At the beginning of the function, Club Founder, Anil Khubani shared the journey of the club. He emphasized that in any journey, more important than the journey or the destination are the companions that have been with the club in making the event a successful one. He thanked all the guests, participants, supporters, backbenchers and volunteers for their contribution in making the program a success.

It is noteworthy that 112 participants of different age groups from 6 countries, 24 states and 71 cities participated in the exhibition. 172 photographs were showcased in the exhibition. Jaipur : The 11th annual photo exhibition of Jaipur Photographer’s Club (JPC) was inaugurated at the Chaturdik Art Gallery of Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) on Thursday evening. The exhibition was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Chief Commercial Manager (CCM) North Western Railway, Govt of India, IRTS, Mr Vivek Rawat.

On this occasion, renowned Jeweller and Senior Photographer, Mr Sudhir Kasliwal; International Travel Writer, Ms Dharmendar Kanwar; Freelance Photographer and Mentor, Mr Umesh Gogna and Principal, Subodh Public School, Ms Kamal Jeet Yadav were present as Guest of Honour. Founder of Jaipur Photographers’ Club, Mr Anil Khubani, Mr Ram Chand Khubani, Nakul Khanchhal, Pankaj Mandowara, Sher Bahadur Singh, Khushiram Pandey, Gaurav Agrawal welcomed the guests with mementos.

This also promotes exchange of art and creativity, he said.

Founder, Jaipur Photographers’ Club, Mr Anil Khubani said that this exhibition is not just a showcase of photographs, but a celebration of art, creativity and the shared passion of capturing the wonderful moments of life through the lens. He informed that 112 participants of different age groups from 6 countries, 24 states and 71 cities are taking part in this exhibition. A total of 172 photographs are being showcased. Jaipur : To celebrate 40 glorious years of Jaigarh Fort as a tourist destination, 'The Jaigarh Festival' began on Saturday with verve and vigour at Jaigarh Fort. This is the first of its kind festival, which is being organised with the aim of preserving and promoting the heritage, arts and crafts of the city. The festival was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur. Princess Gauravi Kumari was also present on this occasion. Later, an impressive presentation of Kathak dance and flute recital of Jaipur Gharana took place at Subhat Niwas.

Speaking on the occasion, Maharaja Padmanabh Singh said that the city of Jaipur is world renowned for its culture and history. I am delighted that Jaigarh Festival has been launched today to celebrate 40 glorious years of Jaigarh Fort. Jaigarh Fort reflects our culture, tradition and history. This festival is an initiative through which we are trying to introduce people to the architectural heritage of Jaigarh, Kachhawa history, musical traditions and vibrant folk culture of Rajasthan, he said.

Talk Shows at Khilbati Niwas

Khilbati Niwas of Jaigarh Fort saw an enriching array of talks. Dr Giles Tillotson gave a talk on the topic - 'Building Jaigarh: The Fort through time'. He talked about various nuances attached to the fort that never came to the limelight. Talking about the fort and ita lesser known facts, he said that Jaigarh was never studied by historians because they were not allowed in the forts. Dr Giles also talked about various architectural features of the fort in detail.

Another talk on 'Conquerors and Protectors: Retracing Kachhawa History' featured Dr Abhimanyu Singh Arha who discussed in detail the entire Kachhawa history in new light and broke the ill-informed notions pertaining to Amer and Jaipur, focusing more on lesser-known parts. He also highlighted the role of Amer and Jaipur rulers as conquerors and protectors.

In the talk 'Reviving the Music Traditions of Rajasthan', Govind Singh Bhati and Sharon Genevive talked about various traditional and cultural music that surround the State and why it is important to keep them alive for the coming generations. Suruchi Sharma then took the audience on a 'Journey with Folk', where she talked about various folk performances and arts that encircle Rajasthan.

Craft and Food Bazaar at Laxmi Vilas

Day 1 of the Jaigarh Festival also saw a beautiful food and craft bazaar, which showcased PDKF craft demonstrations for Gota Patti, Soft Toy Making, Bead Jewellery, Lac Making, and delicious food items.

The day concluded with the screening of documentary 'Meen Raag' by National Award winning Director, Suruchi Sharma.

Programme of Day 2 of the Jaigarh Festival

On 10 December, Day 2 of the festival, there will be an Art Exhibition, Festival Bazaar and Dhoondhari Kavi Sammelan. The Closing ceremony will be showcasing classical, folk performances and felicitation of workshop students.

It is to be noted that the festival is being organized to celebrate 40 years of Jaigarh as a Tourist Destination. RATH KHANA’ TRANSPORT GALLERY OPENS AT CITY PALACE

Jaipur: Transports have enabled Rajput rulers to visit allies, hunt, undertake pilgrimage, wage wars and assert their rule with ceremonial parades through their domain. A one-of-its-kind Transport Gallery – ‘Rath Khana’ - has opened at the City Palace. The gallery showcases themes of power, pilgrimage and perception through these transports.

The transports on display include the 19th century Jal Jhulni Boat on which the idol of Krishna would take a ride on Talkatora lake on Jal Jhulni Ekadashi; the late 18th or early 19th century Takht-e-raawan, which is a portable throne that was used to carry the ruler on special occasions; the 18th century hand-drawn Silver Cart which is the epitome of luxury; Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II’s buggy dating back to the 20th century and an early 20th century Suit of Elephant Armour, among others.

It is to be noted that 'Rath Khana' - the transport gallery is located near Gate No.2 at the Palace and is available for visitors to view as part of the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum tour.

Jaipur : Jaigarh, the iconic fortress nestled in the Aravalli hills, is set to host first-ever, ‘The Jaigarh Festival' on 9 and 10 December, marking four decades since its doors were opened to the public. This first of its kind festival is based on the theme of patronage and preservation of the heritage arts and crafts of Rajasthan. Late Brigadier His Highness Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh, MVC of Jaipur had inaugurated the fort as a tourist destination in 1983, a legacy upheld by the Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust.

Commenting on the Festival, H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur said, “Jaigarh has witnessed centuries of valour and cultural richness, and it is our responsibility to share and celebrate this legacy. The festival is a platform to showcase the heritage arts and crafts that define our identity and to engage with a diverse audience.”

One of the highlights of ‘The Jaigarh Festival’ is Heritage Arts and Crafts Masterclass Workshops, where renowned artisans from the royal 'Gunijankhana' will conduct workshops, showcasing the intricate heritage arts and crafts of Rajasthan. There will also be folk performances and pop-ups that will showcase the vibrant culture of Rajasthan, providing a glimpse into the state's artistic traditions. Specially curated fort walks at the festival will offer visitors insights into the historical and architectural significance of Jaigarh. In the festival, expert panel discussions and talks on history, art, architecture, and other heritage topics will also take place. There will also be a festival bazaar with a diverse range of cuisine and craft-based products.

On 9 December, the opening day of the festival, the lighting of the lamp will take place at 10.30 am by a member of the Royal Family. It will be followed by Art and Crafts workshops and demonstrations , talk shows, fort walks and film screening of 'Meen Raag' by National award winning filmmaker, Suruchi Sharma.

10 December, day 2 of the festival will have an Art Exhibition and Festival Bazaar during the day. The Closing ceremony will be showcasing classical, folk performances and felicitation of workshop students.

Mumbai : The Hinduja Group, a 109-year-old multinational conglomerate with a multi-billion dollar turnover that collaborated with world-renowned Raffles Hotels & Resorts to restore The Old War Office (OWO) of Britain's World War II era prime minister Winston Churchill will be inaugurated on September 26th as a brand-new luxury hotel in the heart of London

“When we came to Whitehall, the team were blown away by the size and beauty of this majestic building,” said Sanjay Hinduja, who has overseen the project.

“No expense has been spared in bringing it back to its former glory and paying homage to its heritage, whilst breathing new life into it. Along with Raffles London at The OWO, we hope to create a legacy that is both timeless and unsurpassed,” he said.

The Hinduja Family had acquired the landmark building on Whitehall, opposite Downing Street, over eight years ago and tied up with Raffles Hotels to transform the building into an extravagant hub complete with luxury residences, restaurants and spas.

The Old War Office, originally completed in 1906 and designed by British architect William Young, was formerly the site of the original Palace of Whitehall. The building has since witnessed world-shaping events while influential political and military leaders like Winston Churchill and David Lloyd George held office in the UK. Its grand architecture has also made the building a backdrop for James Bond films and, more recently, ‘The Crown' Netflix series.

As part of the renovation with the help of hundreds of artisans, the historic interior elements have been restored, including delicate hand-laid mosaic floors, oak panelling, glittering chandeliers, and a magnificent marble staircase. The OWO features 120 guest rooms and suites, signature dining experiences by chef Mauro Colagreco, entertainment spaces including a grand ballroom.

The most historically significant areas of the building include the Heritage Suites, former offices of the influential political and military leaders associated with its history.

A number of these will be available for exclusive reservations as “The Whitehall Wing”, a six-bedroom suite occupying the west wing of the building which can accommodate up to 12 guests – one of the largest luxury hotel wings available in London.
