Mauritius President Launches ‘Compassion Unites’ Alliance, Applauds Dr. Ishan Shivanand’s Role in India’s Global Spiritual Journey
In a landmark event, Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool launches ‘Compassion Unites – Cross-Sector Alliance’ and praises Dr. Ishan Shivanand, a son of Rajasthan, for advancing India’s vision as a global spiritual leader.
Spiritual mentor Dr. Ishan Shivanand, who hails from Rajasthan, is taking India's ancient spiritual wisdom to the global stage by presenting it as a meaningful solution to some of humanity's greatest modern challenges. A significant milestone in this journey was witnessed when His Excellency Dharambeer Gokhool, President of the Republic of Mauritius, officially launched the "Compassion Unites – Cross-Sector Alliance" for mental health at the State House and publicly commended Dr. Shivanand's visionary leadership.
The President began his address by warmly welcoming Dr. Ishan Shivanand back to the State House. He recalled that in 2025, Dr. Shivanand had conducted meditation and mindfulness sessions for officials at the Presidential residence, which encouraged greater awareness of mental well-being and self-reflection. Referring to this year's meditation session, President Gokhool described it as both meaningful and deeply inspiring.
Addressing the gathering, President Gokhool observed that today's world is facing increasing levels of stress, depression, loneliness, and mental health challenges. He praised Dr. Shivanand's "Compassion Unites" initiative for bringing together governments, educational institutions, healthcare professionals, businesses, civil society organisations, and faith communities on a common platform to promote compassion-based solutions. He emphasized that mental health is not merely a medical issue but a shared responsibility essential for nation-building.
